February Announcements!

Hello Great Bay Tai Chi Community!

Many thanks to all who attended our various events in January.  We had some great turnouts and it is exciting to see so much engagement from our students and our partners.  We have more on the docket for February.  Here is what’s coming up…

Monday, January 30

Meghan’s 9:15 Yoga/Meditation class is back on the schedule.  Please join her for this excellent way to start your week!

This is also your last chance to get a class in with Kate before she goes on hiatus until April.  Please come see her at 10:30am!

Sunday, February 12

Our Sunday Seminar Series continues with a look at our various Push Hands exercises.  Push Hands is the bridge between form and applications. These two-person drills are a great way to understand your Tai Chi movements in relation to another persons structure and movement.  This seminar will meet 10:00am-12:00pm at Internal Arts New England and costs $40 to attend.

Wednesday, February 22

Paul Mahoney will make his first visit to Internal Arts New England and offer a one hour Long Form and Push Hands seminar.  We will begin at 6:00pm.  The cost to attend is $20. Space is limited! Please note that this seminar takes the place of Petra’s usual Short Form class while she is away.

Saturday, February 25

Pam and Effie of North Shore Insight Meditation Center will return for another “Mindfulness in Stillness and Motion” workshop.  This workshop will meet 10:00am-12:00pm.  Further details to be announced soon.

Sunday, February 26

Paul Mahoney and Austin Murray will lead a half day seminar on the practice of Tai Chi Ball and the martial applications of Tai Chi 1:00-4:00pm in Woodstock, VT.  For more information or to register, please email:

Coming in March

Newburyport Aikido will begin offering classes at Internal Arts New England.  They are planning an open house event on March 11.  Be on the lookout for more information about these classes.

Our March Sunday Seminar will be on Tai Chi Ball. Date and details coming soon!

A note about class size

It has been great to see so many full classes lately.  We’ve been lucky to gain some new students recently, and we are looking forward to continued growth.  That being said, sometimes space becomes a constraint, and there are some who would prefer to be in a smaller class.  Recently, our Thursday classes in particular have been quite large.  If you are looking for a smaller Short Form class where you can get some more individual attention, please consider our Wednesday classes at 10:30am and 6:30pm at Internal Arts New England in Salisbury.

That’s it for now.  See you in class!

Happy Practicing!
