June Community Updates and Reminders

June has already brought some wonderful opportunities to practice together. The weather cooperated just in time for us to head outdoors for our first session, bringing our Short Form and Long Form classes to the lawn behind the Customs House Museum in Newburyport. We’ve since been lucky enough to meet outside a second time, and it looks like the weather will cooperate for June 19th as well!

Practicing outside in the grass and under the trees is a completely different experience. Beyond the physical challenge of training on an uneven surface, there is a distinct peace that nature brings, and the beautiful Newburyport waterfront offers a stunning backdrop. It truly is a great way to start your Friday.

We also enjoyed an introductory seminar on Bagua Circle Walking with Chris, who showed us how its twisting and stretching movements beautifully complement a regular Tai Chi practice.

It has been a wonderful start to the month! Here is a look at what is happening as we move ahead:

June 27: The Renewal of Resting in Mindfulness

Matthew Daniell will lead this North Shore Insight Meditation Community seminar.

June 27: Reiki Movement and Meditation

An evening of gentle movement, meditation, and restorative self-care through the combined practices of Qigong, Meditation, and Self-Reiki.

Through gentle, repeated movement sets, moving once to learn and twice to embody, we’ll release physical tension and use simple visualization to ease the heart rate and settle the breath. Many people leave this class feeling profoundly centered, grounded, and restored.
