By now, you’ve probably heard about the fantastic performances our competitors put on at the Chinese Martial Arts Autumn Invitational. The ten performances by our six competitors brought home eight medals! It was a great event and our school was represented well across the board. A huge congratulations to Betsy, Charlie, Ian, John, Pam, and Rob and many thanks to Coach Stacie and everyone who participated in helping our competitors prepare for the tournament.
Here is what we have coming up in the weeks ahead:
November 22: FREE! Long Form Silent Practice at 8:30am
November 23: Nobody Home: Emptiness of Self in Insight Meditation and Contemplative Prayer with Ted Jones
Please join Ted Jones, a meditation teacher with North Shore Insight Meditation Center, for a 2.5-hour program focused on insight meditation and contemplative prayer.
November 24: New Iaido Class Time Added
For anyone interested in Iaido – the Japanese sword art of drawing and cutting – Justin Kosuk of Boston Iaido is adding an additional class time on Sundays 4:30-6:00 starting on November 24. Iaido also meets on Tuesday evenings 7:45-9:15.
November 28: FREE! Happy Thanksgiving! Free Pop-up Class
Class starts at 9:00am with Pam followed by Meditation and Reiki with Pam and Stacie at 10:00am. Open to all current Great Bay Tai Chi members. No regular classes.
November 29: FREE! Qigong Class with Chris - Registration Required
Class starts at 12:00pm. Both standing and seated Qigong will be practiced. Open to the public, but registration is required. No regular classes.
November 30: FREE! Internal Arts New England Anniversary Celebration
Open House with refreshments 3:00-7:00pm. Come meet members of our community for an afternoon of socializing and refreshments.

December 1: Reiki Level 1 Certification Class Series with Stacie
8-hour series beginning December 1, 8, 15, and 22, 10:00am-12:00pm
Cost $200 ($150 before 11/23!)
Learn traditional Usui Reiki Ryoho. You will receive a Level 1 Reiki certification, enabling you to volunteer at facilities such as hospice centers and some hospitals. This training is open to everyone and especially beneficial for caregivers, nurses, and palliative care practitioners—or take this first step to start your own Reiki practice! Saturday, December 14: Loving Kindness for the Holidays with Matthew Daniell and Effie Stavrulaki
When cultivated, lovingkindness practice helps us to heal our own hearts by loving ourselves more deeply. It can also help us touch those in our lives and the world with a deeper sense of love and connection. Touching love for ourselves and others can be especially helpful during the holiday season, with all of its inherent stresses. All are welcome.

Startin at 10:00am. Explore the martial applications hidden in the movements of the Yang Style 24 Movement Short Form.
